"Sumit Sarkar works with the interplay of opposites, bringing together analogue techniques and the use of paper, pen, metal and stone with cutting-edge digital and robotic technologies. Drawing on icon, metaphor, science fiction and comic art, Sumit moves fluidly between painting and sculpture, and between figurative and abstract. "
words by Harriet Sharkey
